Jennifer Hawken began playing flute when she was twelve and soon knew that flute would be a major part of her life. She studied flute with Mary Karen Clardy at the University of North Texas and Sydney Carlson at the University of Houston. Jennifer has appeared as soloist with the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra in Texas and was part of the Texas Music Festival. She joined the Glacier Symphony Orchestra in 2019. Jennifer has given solo recitals and played in many chamber music settings, and she is equally at home in both classical and jazz. She taught high school band for a few years and has taught privately for over 25 years. She loves the mountains and enjoys hiking, sewing, and reading a good book with a cup of tea.
