About Greg

In addition to the Glacier Symphony, Greg Notess, French horn, has performed with the Bozeman Symphony (for 27 years), Helena Symphony, Great Falls Symphony, Billings Symphony, Lexington (KY) Philharmonic, Big Sky Music Festival Orchestra, Intermountain Opera, Montana TheatreWorks, Gallatin Woodwind Quintet, the Bozeman Trail Chamber Players, 406 Wind Quintet, Parforce Hunting Horn Ensemble, and Mannheim Steamroller among other groups. Greg has performed on tours in Japan, Singapore, and Carnegie Hall. He conducted pit orchestra for the last two full Broadway musicals performed at the Many Glacier Hotel. He has degrees in Music Education, Music Performance, and Librarianship. For horn, he studied under Michael Hatfield and Lowell Greer. Outside music, he is a retired reference librarian and professor emeritus at Montana State University and now works in Glacier National Park. Greg is also president of the Glacier Mountaineering Society.
