Sarah Burdick has played double bass with the Glacier Symphony since 1990, and still loves it!. Sarah helped found and direct both the Glacier Youth Symphony and Glacier Children’s Choir under the auspices of the Glacier Symphony and Chorale, spent a year as conductor of the Southeast Alaska Symphony, and taught music in public and private schools, preschool through college, from 1987 until retiring in 2016. She still maintains a small private piano studio, plays flute duets with friends, dabbles with the concertina and hammered dulcimer, and dreams about hiring a Sherpa to carry her bass to rehearsals and gigs. (It’s getting heavier!)
