Due to the uncertain weather and air quality conditions for this weekend, the two final concerts for Festival Amadeus will be moved indoors, location(s) to be announced. All seating will remain as general admission with no assigned seats.
We celebrate the return of Festival Amadeus in August, as the only weeklong classical music festival in Montana! We’re busy making plans for some fabulous performances August 3 – 8 in three venues in the Flathead Valley, including this year outdoor concerts at beautiful Rebecca Farm. Don’t miss this spectacular return to “live” symphonic and chamber music.
Enjoy Mountains by Day and Music by Night!
The mountains and valleys of Austria were an inspiration to Mozart, so it is fitting that NW Montana’s only week-long summer classical music festival centering on the music of Mozart and other great classical composers should take place right here in the beautiful Flathead Valley! Just minutes away from the stunning scenery of Glacier National Park, the charming resort town of Whitefish, along with venues in Bigfork and Kalispell, provide the backdrop to Festival Amadeus. Each year since the Festival’s establishment in 2008, Founding Artistic Director and Conductor John Zoltek has crafted innovative programs of intimate chamber and orchestral concerts and special educational events and receptions, enhancing the quality of life in the Flathead Valley with great music experiences for residents and visitors alike. Featuring the select Festival Amadeus Orchestra and a lineup of celebrated soloists and ensembles, Festival Amadeus is a summer treat for the senses that should not be missed! And if you have a young musician in the family, Camp Festival Amadeus offered by our collaborative partner organization, North Valley Music School, will once again be in session offering instruction, master classes and performance opportunities for those “budding Mozarts”.
The 2021 Festival promises to be an especially exciting one as Festival Amadeus returns after a forced hiatus during the pandemic last year, with a program entitled Morning, Noon and Night, a reference to the famous Haydn symphonies which will be performed to open the Festival. This year we “Go Local” as our featured performers will come from our own orchestra members and present two of Mozart’s most beloved and familiar solo concertos. The Clarinet Concerto in A will be presented with the superb Dinah Weimer as soloist and his Horn Concerto No. 3 in Eb with Paul Rossi showing off his virtuosic playing on the horn. Maestro Zoltek has once again invited Festival audience favorite, the Fry Street Quartet, to return and dazzle us with Beethoven and the exuberant, yet elegant String Quintet in G by Brahms. Additional highlights of this years’ Festival include an all Haydn opening concert, Morning, Noon and Night, the brilliant Schubert Symphony No. 6 in C, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 and two casual outdoor weekend concerts Baroque Blast and Mozart and Beethoven Finale! Check out all the exciting concerts and treat yourself to a week of fantastic LIVE concert experiences!
Audiences will thrill to outstanding concerts, culminating with this year two concerts under the Montana Big Sky at one of the Valley’s most spectacular outdoor venues, Rebecca Farm.
Festival Amadeus performances will be held this year from August 3rd – 8th. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 406-407-7000 or by going to this link below:
