Glacier Symphony and Chorale awarded five outstanding students from across the Flathead valley music scholarships at their season finale concert in April. The scholarships are part of the organization’s music education program “Wild About Music.” The program provides free concerts for area 5th and 6th graders featuring visiting guest musicians, a Symphony Musicians in the Schools program, Free Youth Tickets for masterworks concerts, an Instrument Petting Zoo and other educational outreach.
“The winners were selected from Flathead valley students who excel in music including several who play in the Glacier Symphony or sing in the Chorale. The intent of the scholarships is to help these talented music students further their training,” comments Paul Larson, GSC executive director.
